of Christian men admit to consuming pornography on some level

Source: Beyond the Porn Phenomenon, Barna 2024

Porn is one of the most pervasive struggles among men in the church — and one of the least talked about. The shame around it is so heavy that most men will never raise their hand in a small group, and they'll never bring it to a pastor. So they carry it alone.

Introducing

Anchor

Anchor.

What is Anchor?

An anonymous community inside your church where people can reach out the moment they're struggling.

1

They reach out. Anonymously.

When someone is struggling — in temptation, after a fall, or just carrying the weight — they can send an anonymous reach-out to your community with one tap. No name. No identity. Just an honest cry for help.

2

The community responds.

Others in your church respond with scripture, prayer, and encouragement. The original user is pulled out of isolation by their peers, everyone stays anonymous.

3

Deeper accountability forms.

Users can opt to continue the conversation with those who encouraged them, and also invite users to be their accountability partners. All without ever losing the anonymity that made it safe to start.

What your church gets

Everything your community needs. Nothing you have to manage.

01

Your own private community

Anchor isn't a shared platform — your members only interact with each other. Joining requires a pin you control, so it stays exactly who you intend it to be. Your people get the trust of a closed community with the safety of real anonymity.

02

See how your community is engaging

Your admin dashboard gives you anonymized analytics — reach-outs sent, response rates, how many members are forming accountability partnerships. You see the impact without ever seeing individual data.

One link. One QR code. You're live.

03

One link. One QR code. You're live.

You get a custom join link and QR code for your church. Put it in your bulletin, on screen during a service, or in a small group. Scanning it downloads the app and drops someone directly into your community — bypassing the pin for seamless onboarding on iOS and Android.

Built with safety in mind

Real, vulnerable conversations — in an environment that's safe for everyone in your church.

Every message is reviewed

Approved — sent to community

Not sent — moderation blocked this message

AI Moderation

Every reach-out, response, and post is reviewed before anyone else sees it. It allows genuine vulnerability — honest struggles, temptation, confession — while blocking trolling, hate, and harmful content. It understands the difference.

Crisis detected

Are you safe?

If you're thinking about hurting yourself, please reach out:

988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

Crisis detection

If a message suggests someone may be in danger, Anchor detects it and immediately shows them a banner with the national suicide prevention hotline. The message can still go through if it's a genuine plea for help — the moderation is designed to tell the difference.

Block & report, always available

Every user can block and report on any interaction, at any time. Reports come directly to the Anchor team actively monitoring for app abuse.

Moderation can be tuned

Moderation can be adjusted to allow or disallow for specific things, creating the perfect balance of vulnerability and safety for your community.

Getting started is simple

No technical setup. No ongoing management. Just reach out and we'll handle the rest.

1

Reach out and say hi

Tell me a bit about your church — what you're hoping to offer your congregation, and any questions you have. I'll get back to you personally, usually within a day or two.

2

Your community goes live

Once you're ready, I'll add your church to the app. Your private community is created instantly — joinable only to your members during account creation, and pin-protected so it stays exactly who you intend it to be.

3

You get everything you need to launch

Your admin login comes with your QR code for seamless pinless onboarding, your pin code, ready-to-use graphics and slides for sharing, and a short step-by-step playbook to help you introduce it to your congregation.

Questions pastors ask

Can I or anyone else see who's struggling?

No. The anonymity is absolute. Users are identified only by a randomly assigned ID — no names, no emails, no way to tie behavior to a real person except through willing vulnerability among users.

What if someone posts something inappropriate or harmful?

It won't make it through to others. AI moderation reviews every message before anyone sees it. If something slips through, users can easily block that user with one click, along with report the content.

What if someone seems to be in genuine crisis?

Anchor detects crisis language and automatically shows the person a banner with the national suicide prevention hotline. The message can still be sent if it's a genuine plea for help — the moderation is designed to recognize the difference.

Is it really free?

Yes. No credit card, no subscription, no limits on how many people join. Anchor is 100% free for churches.

How long does it take to get set up?

Once you're ready to launch, your private community on Anchor can be live in minutes! All that's left to do is share the word!

Where is it available?

Anchor is available on both iOS and Android. Your custom join link & QR code handles both platforms automatically.

Jason Moynihan

Hey! I'm Jason Moynihan

Founder, Anchor

I found faith in 2024, and God has been freeing me from pornography & lust since — a battle I fought alone in silence for years before I knew Him.

I built Anchor because it's something I wish I had. A place to reach out anonymously in a moment of temptation and isolation, without the shame of someone knowing who I was.

There's so many people out there struggling in silence, and I hope Anchor can help make a dent in this battle that is so common to people everywhere. Any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
